LTB Leitungsbau GmbH is a market leader in the construction and maintenance of energy infrastructure domestically and abroad. Its focus is on planning and installation of transmission line systems and the related engineering, as well as the development and distribution of geographic information systems, assembly techniques and tools for the construction of transmission lines.
LTB’s big customers include transmission system operators (TSO), regional and interregional distribution system operators (DSO), Deutsche Bahn AG and various other industry customers. The company is based in the town of Radebeul in Germany’s federal state of Saxony and has other main hubs in Lichtenberg (Saxony), Güstrow (Mecklenburg-West Pomerania), Lehrte/Ahlten (Lower Saxony), Neuenhagen (Brandenburg), Dortmund (North Rhine-Westphalia) and Mannheim (Baden-Württemberg).
In Switzerland, BKW Infra Services is the market leader in services for high voltage and maximum voltage transmission lines. The merger with LTB will allow BKW Infra Services to further develop its infrastructure services and continue on its successful growth trajectory. The main market driver in the building of transmission lines in Germany is the intensive expansion of renewable energies and the associated need to transport current from the power-generating regions to industrial and population centres. The high demand for upgrades and maintenance of existing grid infrastructures is also driving growth.
